Improv Troupe’s Debut at Onslow County Monster Bash

Our Improv Troupe recently made its debut at the Onslow County Monster Bash, bringing humor and quick-thinking to the outdoor stage! The festive, open-air atmosphere added a unique energy, inspiring our teens to embrace the unexpected and bring their best to every moment. Performing in front of a live audience not only made for an unforgettable experience but also encouraged our young actors to take creative risks, sharpen their skills, and connect with the crowd.

This troupe gives our local teens a safe, exciting place to hang out and bond over their shared love of theater. Improv is all about thinking on your feet, and our troupe took on that challenge with incredible creativity and spontaneity. By responding in real time to each other—and to the audience’s prompts—they practiced skills they rarely get to use elsewhere.

The games were a highlight, each filled with Halloween-themed twists:

• Good, Bad, Worse: A game that had our actors coming up with increasingly hilarious and outrageous responses.

• Buzzer: Where quick thinking kept our teens on their toes, as they adapted their responses to avoid the “buzzer.”

• The Dating Game: An audience favorite, which gave the crowd a role in shaping the answers, adding another layer of fun and spontaneity.

A huge thank you goes out to our improv coaches, who have guided our teens and helped them grow more confident on stage. We are especially grateful for the enthusiasm and dedication of Mr. John, whose support and made this first season of the Improv Troupe a success. He crafted a lineup of activities and exercises to develop our teens’ skills and boost their confidence on stage, making each session both fun and challenging. We are also deeply grateful to the supportive parents who continue to encourage their young performers.

We’re thrilled to see our Improv Troupe growing, and we can’t wait for more exciting performances in the future! Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a true success.
