Giving Tuesday: Scholarship Sponsorship
Theater transforms lives. On this Giving Tuesday, help us sponsor children in need to experience the joy of theater through Ferry Tales Youth Theater. In 2024, FTYT provided 10 student scholarships. It is our goal to reach even more youth in the coming year. Together, we can raise funds for 20 scholarships in 2025, supporting young talents in our community.

Giving Tuesday: Help Ferry Tales Youth Theater Transform Lives Through Theater Scholarships
At Ferry Tales Youth Theater, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to shine on stage and experience the transformative power of theater. This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising funds to provide scholarships for children who might not otherwise have access to our programs. With your support, we can ensure that finances are never a barrier for young performers in our community.
Scholarships: Expanding Access to the Arts
In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide 10 scholarships to talented, eager young performers. These scholarships allowed children to participate in our spring musical and other enriching programs throughout the year.
This year, our goal is even more ambitious: we aim to provide 20 scholarships to children in need. With 10 scholarships at $200 each and 10 at $100 each, we can give 20 deserving students the chance to grow, create, and discover their potential through theater.
The Power of Theater: Seven Ways It Changes a Child’s Life
Theater isn’t just about learning lines and performing. It’s a life-changing experience that builds essential skills and fosters personal growth. Here are seven ways theater impacts a child’s life:
1. Builds Confidence: Stepping onto the stage teaches children to trust themselves and their abilities.
2. Encourages Teamwork: Every production is a collaborative effort, showing kids the value of working together toward a common goal.
3. Develops Communication Skills: Whether it’s speaking clearly on stage or listening actively, theater enhances verbal and non-verbal communication.
4. Fosters Creativity: Theater opens the door to imagination, helping kids think outside the box and express themselves in new ways.
5. Teaches Resilience: Learning to handle nerves, accept constructive feedback, and bounce back from mistakes are invaluable life skills.
6. Provides a Sense of Belonging: Theater is a home for everyone, offering a safe and welcoming space for kids to connect and grow.
7. Encourages Empathy: Stepping into a character’s shoes helps children understand and appreciate different perspectives.
